O Produtor, tasting note published in May 27th 2019

Pleasant and fragrant aroma of black fruits (black plum), rockrose, violet and light toasted and smoked notes. In the mouth it shows very velvety and with a mixture of flavors in good proportion and concentration. Rich in fruit, (predominance of black fruits like blackberries, blueberries,...), and notes of spice with great delicacy of tannins. Excellent persistence and very pleasant finish.

Sagrado

Manual harvesting by grape varieties and by plots for 18KG boxes. After a delicate and careful selection, the grapes were trodden on foot in granite mills. Indigenous yeasts were used to preserve the identity of the grapes and the terroir of the Douro. The fermentation took place at a controlled temperature. Aged for 9 months in French oak barrels.

Sagrado

Located in the heart of the Douro, Quinta do Sagrado has 20 hectares of terraced vineyards. The vineyards planted in 14 plots separated by grape varieties, in addition to its privileged situation, bathed by the river and impacted by all the Douro’s diversity, give the Quinta an unrivalled production of quality and a very high reputation. Quinta do Sagrado is a remarkable estate, born out of tradition, cultivated from a passion for Port Wine and created to produce special, premium wines of the finest selection that the Douro can offer the world. The wines are produced in the traditional way, through the picking and selection of grapes by hand, foot treading in granite lagares and winemaking in small batches. This process gives Quinta do Sagrado wines a long ageing potential.
