Rola
2019 was characterized as an atypical year, with a cold and dry winter followed by an exceptionally hot and dry spring and summer. This climate led to an advancement in the vegetative cycle, approximately 1 to 2 weeks earlier than the average. Maturation reached the harvest point in some of our vineyards earlier than ever recorded. The harvest began at the perfect point of ripeness and acidity, under magnificent weather conditions.
Grape Origin: Several plots of old vines over 60 years old. Touriga Nacionaland Touriga Franca are the two grape varieties representing this blend, revealing the true old vines of the Douro.
Vinification and Aging: The grapes were fermented in traditional stainless steel tanks for 7 to 10 days at temperatures of 22° to 25º. The wines are then racked to French oak barrels, where malolactic fermentation takes place. The wine is then aged for 15 months in barrels.
Bottled in November 2021.
