O Produtor, tasting note published in November 27th 2020
Deep colour, with intense notes of fresh black fruit and balsamic herbaceous aroma recalling the native Mediterranean flora that we can find in the Region. Strong mineral character with an aroma of wet stone, and notes of stems, very rich and complex. On the palate, it is wild with great complexity. The tannins are present but very well integrated and combined with a refreshing acidity. Long after taste, great presence with great ageing potential.
Redoma was the first red wine from Niepoort, first introduced in 1991. It’s like the Douro, “with great character and personality.” Redoma Tinto is produced from various vineyards in the Cima Corgo region, with over 60 years old, mostly facing north, where different grape varieties are planted in the same vineyard, as was common in the region.

Niepoort Vinhos
The Niepoort family has been creating Port Wines since 1842. The first property in Douro was bought in 1987 and Dirk Niepoort started a new Era in the company with the creation of the first Redoma red in 1991. In the last years Niepoort took on the great challenge of interpreting other soils and climates and acquired two properties in other regions, Dão and Bairrada. Discover the Niepoort Triangle which express the different terroirs: Schist (Douro), Limestone (Bairrada) and Granite (Dão).
