O Produtor, tasting note published in September 30th 2023

Dark red, dense, and opaque color. Initially closed on the nose, then revealing a complex blend of black fruits, cedar, wild berries, pennyroyal, spice mix, cardamom, and earthy notes. The palate is meaty, with solid, evolving tannins that remain fine and elegant on the finish. Lots of freshness, with a long, mineral, and granitic finish.

Ravasqueira

Ravasqueira Vinha das Romãs is the result of a story that began in 2002 when a former pomegranate orchard was replaced by a vineyard. Over the years, the vines took root, giving rise to a wine with a very distinctive structure. It was only after a detailed soil study that we uncovered the source of its remarkable personality and texture. The roots of the new Vinha das Romãs had intertwined with the remnants of the pomegranate trees, enriching the soil. The remains of these roots made this vineyard unique, profoundly impacting the terroir. This is how this Single Vineyard stands out with its unique profile, adopting the name of the vineyard it comes from and becoming one of the most appreciated and iconic wines of Monte da Ravasqueira.

With extended aging in French oak barrels, this wine showcases the elegance of Syrah and Touriga Franca, sourced from small plots within a five-hectare area of the Vinha das Romãs.

It fully represents the use of precision viticulture, a technique that seeks to understand the particularities of the grapes, plot by plot, row by row, vine by vine, to determine the best potential for each fruit.
