O Produtor, tasting note published in May 23rd 2019

A wine with medium color, featuring elegant and fresh fruit aromas. On the palate, the combination of elegance, freshness, and salinity is surprising.

Ramilo

Vinification:
The grapes, sourced from vineyards over 40 years old, were hand-harvested and carefully selected upon arrival at the winery. Fermentation took place in a limestone lagares, with foot treading for one week. A small portion of the wine aged in used French oak barrels, while the remainder was fermented in stainless steel tanks.

Food Pairing:
Ideal for pairing with intense meat and fish dishes roasted in the oven.

Ramilo Wines

Since 1937, the Ramilo family has been dedicated to wine on the Atlantic coast between Colares and Mafra, once one of Portugal’s most famous wine regions. Four generations later, dissatisfied with the abandonment of local traditions, brothers Pedro and Nuno Ramilo left everything and returned to their origins. They faced blockades, moved stones and mountains, rehabilitated farms, saved old vineyards and replanted new ones. They rescued from oblivion the true vines of Colares and the noble varieties of the region.
