The Quinta dos Quatro Ventos 2019 displays a very concentrated garnet color. On the nose, it has a prominent aroma of ripe fruits with toasted notes from the wood where it aged. On the palate, it is full-bodied yet elegant with very harmonious present tannins.
The taste is smooth, well-structured, very persistent, highlighting the harmony between the flavors.

Quinta dos Quatro Ventos

Located in the Upper Douro, on the border of the Seixas and Numão parishes in the municipality of Vila Nova de Foz Côa, Quinta dos Quatro Ventos resembles a vast Japanese sand garden, with a symbolic dovecote lost in the vastness. With a total area of about 150 hectares, it is on this centuries-old estate that Quinta dos Quatro Ventos Reserva is produced.

In 2019, the harvest was generally of very good quality in the Douro region. Rain before spring and in early summer ensured sufficient water levels for perfect grape ripening at Quinta dos Quatro Ventos.

Vinification: The grapes from Quinta dos Quatro Ventos are hand-harvested. They undergo pre-fermentation cold maceration (8º C) for five days, alcoholic fermentation for 8 to 10 days (30 º C), and a final maceration for four days.

Aging: 12 months in new barrels of French oak (75%) and Russian oak (25%).
