This red wine has an intense color with violet hints. It has a lush and concentrated aroma dominated by ripe red and black fruits, some floral aromas and balsamic aromas such as rock rose. The palate is dominated by freshness and liveliness, has firm and ripe tannins, with a well-involved acidity. Finishes long and persistent, emphasizing the balance between its freshness and maturation.
Vinification: Manual harvesting, sorting table, destemming, crushing, alcoholic fermentation with indigenous yeasts at controlled temperatures (25º to 28ºC) in granite mills using foot treading and pressing in an old vertical press. Aging: In concrete vats and used French oak barrels for about 9 months.

Esporão was also distinguished with the award at the “Green Project Awards 2013” for sustainable agricultural production practices and received an honourable mention for water, energy and waste reduction projects.
In 2014, Esporão was included in Wine&Spirits’ “100 Best Producers of the Year” list and won the “European Business Awards for the Environment” in the “Products and Services” category.
