Quinta dos Monteirinhos

Manel Chaves is the father of our winemaker, Hugo Chaves. This wine is the result of the son’s nostalgia for his father, who passed away too soon.

The quality of this wine is due to the rigorous selection of the best 100% Touriga Nacionalgrapes, the king grape variety of Portugal.

It aged for 15 months in French oak barrels.

Menu suggestion: Excellent to accompany dishes of meat and fish in the oven. It should be opened 15 minutes before being consumed at a temperature of 16º-18ºC.

The Monteiro Albuquerque family has been producing wines in the Dão region for over 100 years and across 7 generations.

“Monteirinhos” is the affectionate term our fellow villagers used to refer to the younger members of the family.

We produce wines and sparkling wines known for their exceptional quality and elegance. Our red wines are particularly noteworthy, with fruity and floral aromas, soft tannins, and balanced acidity. The white and rosé wines are fresh and fruity, with floral and citrus notes.

Quinta dos Monteirinhos is located in the Dão region, near the city of Mangualde, in Viseu. The property comprises 20 hectares of vineyards, cultivated on granitic and schist soils, surrounded by hills and picturesque natural landscapes, offering panoramic views of the surroundings and the Serra da Estrela.
