O Produtor, tasting note published in May 15th 2022
It is a full-bodied red wine with a 'freixenista' character of the Upper Douro. Aroma of black fruits, with notes of liquorice, spices, violets, bergamot and rock-rose, in balance with very elegant notes of barrel aging.
Very complex and elegant, very mature, with fine, firm but smooth tannins, making this wine long and full with a fruity flavour, anticipating an excellent potential for ageing in bottle.
Manual harvesting. Total destemming followed by crushing. The grapes are fermented by grape variety and vineyard parcel, with the aim of making a selection that allows a better final result.
Fermentation in small capacity stainless steel vats, at a temperature of 24ºC. Controlled and gentle maceration, in order to obtain concentrated, aromatic and elegant wines. Aged for 18 months in French (2/3) and American (1/3) oak barrels.
