Brownish-red colour with hues. Clean, involved, intense nose with some complexity, tobacco and charcoal notes, with a layer of acidity. Not very fleshy, but with plenty of tannins.
The old vineyard of Quinta do Fojo is a unique terroir for its natural balance from which result deep and elegant wines, complex, with round and firm tannins.

Quinta do Fojo
The wines from Quinta do Fojo are wines with very high standards and unique and unrepeatable characteristics.
We produce exclusively one wine from each of the two vineyards of Quinta do Fojo, the old vineyard from the end of the 19th century and the 30 year-old vineyard. In most years, the wine from the old vineyard is released as Vinha do Fojo, while in exceptional years it is released as Fojo. This internal classification method is only applied to the old vineyard. In the case of the 30-year-old vineyard the wine is always launched as Quinta do Fojo.
Therefore, there are two wines from each harvest: in most years Vinha do Fojo and Quinta do Fojo or, in the years we consider an exception, Fojo and Quinta do Fojo. This makes our work very different from the usual vast portfolio of wines of all qualities and styles.
The wines of Quinta do Fojo express the character of its terroir and the identity of the year, they are wines to be enjoyed at all stages of your life.
