O Produtor, tasting note published in January 14th 2022

Intense ruby color. The nose brings the diversity of traditional vineyards. Spicy, with notes of black pepper, tobacco, and eucalyptus. Ripe black fruit, reminiscent of the high temperatures experienced during the maturation of the grapes. Good mouthfeel with expressive fruit. Mature, textured tannins, with a fresh and persistent finish.

Quinta do Côtto

A special vineyard. A wedding dowry that has given and continues to give good fruit. 90 years after its planting, this vineyard combines over 30 varieties in a field blend, with the predominant ones being Touriga Nacional, Tinta Amarela, Tinta Roriz, and Sousão, in schist soils at an average altitude of 140 meters.

Viticulture
Grapes from a vineyard planted in the traditional system, on the left bank of the Corgo River. For this DOC Douro Baixo-Corgo wine, all grapes are hand-harvested into 12 kg boxes.

Winemaking
After a total destemming and light crushing, the grapes were transferred to stainless steel tanks, where they fermented at controlled temperatures, with maceration for 8 to 12 days. The wine aged for 12 months in French oak barrels.
