Quinta do Côtto
Quinta do Côtto is one of the oldest estates in the Douro Demarcated Region. This DOC Douro wine comes from a selection of the finest Douro grape varieties from our subregion, Baixo Corgo.
Viticulture:
Grapes sourced from various plots within the estate, located between 140 and 440 meters in altitude, with different sun exposures. All grapes are hand-harvested into 12 kg boxes.
Winemaking:
After total destemming and gentle crushing, the grapes are transferred to stainless steel tanks, where they ferment at controlled temperatures, with maceration periods of 8 to 12 days. 30% of the blend is aged in new and used French and Portuguese oak barrels for 4 to 11 months, followed by additional aging in stainless steel until bottling. The remaining 70% of the blend is aged exclusively in stainless steel.
