O produtor, tasting note published in July 1st 2018

Deep ruby red. Clean and complex aroma, with pronounced intensity. Very fruity, with notes of red fruits, bergamot, and hints of black olive and black pepper. On the palate, it is elegant, full, and velvety, with a strong fruit presence; nuances of quality oak barrel and some minerality. The tannins are present in an elegant and well-integrated manner, providing a certain freshness. Long finish.

Quinta do Cerro da Nora

The Quinta do Cerro da Nora Grande Reserva 2011 is a red DOC Douro wine composed of grapes from the Touriga Nacional variety from the noblest area of the estate and grapes from Old Vines over 70 years old. A story of strength over nature, with fantastic quality. A wine that is starting to enter its best drinking window, but with aging potential for another 10 years.

Harvest: Hand-picked on September 27, 2011.

Vinification: In stainless steel vats, with mechanical foot treading and total destemming, long but gentle skin maceration, and alcoholic fermentation at a controlled temperature of 25ºC.

Aging: 14 months in new French oak barrels.

Perfectly accompanies robust meat dishes such as roasts and stews, game dishes, aged cheeses, and grilled cod.

Winemakers: Cláudia Santos (Douro Wine Devotion) and José Pinheiro (Gesprove).

Douro Wine Devotion

Property of Douro Wine Devotion since 1996, Quinta do Cerro da Nora is located 3Km from Pinhão on the left bank of River Pinhão, just opposite to the village of São Cristóvão do Douro. Initially, this estate had 4 ha of vineyard and 12 ha of bushes where an authentic work of “territorial filigree” had to be done. Several small parcels of different owners, which were located within the estate, were then purchased which allowed the vineyard area to grow up to 12 ha of fully letter A classified vines. Benefiting of its schist soil and prime solar exposure, in the early 2000s, new vines of Touriga Nacional, Touriga Francesa, Tinta Barroca and Sousão were planted in this estate, where initially only rock and bushes were.
