The wine has a medium intensity garnet colour, with a pronounced watery halo, but with a bright appearance (a sign of good acidity). The aroma, past the excess, continued to show camphor, along with fruitcake, balsam, cherries and plums (a bit in syrup, a bit overripe), meat broth, mushrooms, wet leaves and earth (sous-bois). It had medium body, with medium+ acidity, tannins still intense but very fine, medium+ flavour intensity, and high persistence. Not a wine for everyone; but for those who like wines with quite evolved character. And even then, I don't think it should be kept for longer.
