The traditional red grape variety of Vinhos Verdes reveals surprising elegance in this Vinhão from Quinta de Monforte. The excellent ripening of the grapes has smoothed out the typical rusticity of Vinhão, resulting in a red wine that is aromatically intense but smooth on the palate. The grapes are foot-trodden in a stone lagar and undergo aging in stainless steel tanks.
Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks with controlled temperature at 14°C.
It pairs well with red meat dishes, game birds, regional cuisine, and a variety of dishes according to personal taste.
