O Produtor, tasting note published in November 27th 2022
Violet intense color. The wine presents the typical aromas of the caste, with the traditional combination of spices and ripe fruit and notes of blackberry and currant. In the mouth, it has a discrete acidity combined with ripe fruit and soft tannins. The finish is fresh and very elegant.
This wine comes from 29-year-old vineyards, planted in clay-limestone soils with South-North exposure. Grapes, previously destemmed, underwent a pre-fermentative maceration at low temperatures for 12 hours. The alcoholic fermentation was carried out in stainless steel vats for 9 days, not exceeding 25ºC. The stage and the malolactic fermentation occurred 40% in new French oak barrels and 60% in second year oak barrels for 12 months.

Quinta de Chocapalha
Chocapalha is almost like a person, we have a very close and intense relationship. It all started in 1987 when Alice and Paulo were looking for a property that would become their Family Project and where they could make great quality wine. At Quinta da Chocapalha, every member of the family is part of creating the spirit of this project. Alice and Paulo Tavares da Silva found the estate to carry out their family dream. There was so much to be done, but they quickly took on the necessary work to make Quinta da Chocapalha what it is today.
