Quinta de Arcossó
Quinta de Arcossó has a 0.8 ha plot, integrated into a 20 ha estate of century-old vineyards, consisting of white, red, and rosé grape varieties. The vines do not follow any specific row orientation and are not supported by trellises or wires. In addition to the vines, the land features olive trees (not exclusively along the borders) and other fruit trees, situated at an average altitude of 440 meters. The soil is granite-based.
This wine is the result of a faithful blend of red and rosé grape varieties, with no examples of Touriga Nacional or Touriga Franca.
Vinification: The grapes were harvested on September 15 and vinified in a lagar, with foot treading. The wine aged for 12 months in French oak barrels, with only 1/3 of the wine remaining for 4 months in new wood with each transfer. With each exchange, 1/3 of the wine returned to the new oak barrel, and the remainder aged in stainless steel. The resulting 2,000 bottles were bottled in July 2021 and will continue aging in the cellar for 3 years. This wine is neither fined nor filtered, truly honoring the ancient vines.
