O Produtor, tasting note published in February 14th 2023

Deep garnet color, very open. Aroma with notes of red fruit, such as cherry and plum, grass, and hay. It presents itself as fragile but exhibits a strong character, with pronounced tannins in a fruity and fresh environment.

Quinta de Arcossó

The red wine Quinta de Arcossó Bastardo is born in Arcossó – Vidago – Sub-region of Ribeira de Oura, on a 10.5-hectare plot integrated into a 12-hectare vineyard planted in 2003, located on a broad hillside at a medium altitude (375 meters), facing south, with about 20% slope. Soil of granitic origin.

Vinification: Foot treading of the grapes was carried out in 1000-liter vats, and later placed in old chestnut wood barrels, with about 30% of stems, where alcoholic fermentation took place for 12 days. Two completely manual daily punch-downs were performed, and the wine was extracted by gravity. The wine underwent malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks and aging in used French oak barrels. This is a wine for which no mechanical processes were used throughout its winemaking and aging. Bottled, followed by 6 months of cellar aging.

Open and decant the bottle some time before tasting.
