Valéria Zeferino, tasting note published in May 15th 2019
Lots of toast in the aroma leaving the fruit in the background. Black cherry jam, cinnamon and chocolate add complexity to the whole. Concentrated and firm in the mouth, with barrels still very evident and in need of time. Long and spicy finish.
Manual harvesting in 20 kg boxes, sorting and destemming of the grapes, maceration and fermentation in a “Ganimede” vat. Malolactic fermentation and ageing for 12 months in French oak barrels. 20% are new, the rest are second wine. 6.300 bottles of 75 cl.

Quinta das Marias
During the last three decades, with much love and great care, we have turned Quinta das Marias into a wine house that produces top quality wines exclusively from its own culture. Our wines are an example of the elegance, depth and refinement that only the Dão region can produce, thanks to the climatic conditions and the exceptional soils from which it benefits.
The first good wines were produced in 1998. The 1999 Dão has already won a gold medal in the Dão DOC Competition. The greatest success so far has been the awarding of the Best Single Vineyard Wine of the Year prize to the Touriga NacionalReserve 2011 in the Vinhos de Portugal Competition, the most important in the country.
As a family company we place quality above everything else. And it is exactly because of this that we have managed to affirm our wines on the international markets in front of the greatest wine lovers.
