Quinta da Lagoalva
The long tradition of Quinta da Lagoalva as a wine producer is attested to in 1888, at the Portuguese Industrial Exhibition, where it was present with 600 wine casks.
The Quinta da Lagoalva Grand Reserve Syrah red wine is born from the 45 hectares of vineyards at Quinta da Lagoalva, planted in the best “terroirs” of the Tejo, with both national and international grape varieties with the best enological aptitudes. The vineyards of Quinta da Lagoalva benefit from a modern training system, just like the winery, which combines effective winemaking with great versatility of enological options, based on the dialogue between the “New World” model and traditional European methods.
Winemaking: Sourced from small plots, the carefully selected grapes are hand-harvested into boxes in September, early enough to arrive at the winery still in the morning. After 3 days of pre-fermentation maceration, alcoholic fermentation took place in stainless-steel tanks at 24°C. The pomace was pressed in a hydraulic press, and malolactic fermentation occurred in French oak barrels (new and second-year), where it aged for 14 months.
