O Produtor, tasting note published in May 27th 2017
Quinta da Boavista Vineyard of the Oratory, presents a grená color with good intensity. Powerful, warm, intense aroma full of personality showing its youth. Shrubby side, very sweet red fruits that explode in the glass with increasing intensity / exuberance. Dark chocolate. Coffee. Sweet, consistent, very present / robust tannins, but always presenting an extraordinary balance between red berry fruit / acidity / structure. Very long finish. Harmonious.
Manual harvest. Manual bunch selection. Destemmed and gently crushed berries. As fermentation tanks we have the traditional granite presses with foot treading, and then the wine is aged in French oak barrels from different cooperages for at least 18 months. We perform a light collage and subsequent bottling. All our wines are sealed with natural cork. The wines are neither filtered nor stabilized by the cold so they can give rise to a precipitate with age.

Quinta da Boavista
Quinta da Boavista, one of the most emblematic in the Douro, is a property always associated with the name of the Baron of Forrester, the greatest figure in the history of this wine region in Portugal.
Located near Pinhão, on the right bank of the Douro, and with a unique view over the river, this icon of the Douro Demarcated Region is known mainly for its quality vineyards, some of which are almost 100 years old, planted in terraces and schist terraces that hard work many men built. In this property, the memory of time is preserved and maintained with rigor, which makes Quinta da Boavista an ex-libris of natural beauty from the Douro and an exceptional terroir for the production of high quality wines.
