Quinta Alta
Zuccaro is unique. It appears indecipherable. It reveals itself as harmonious and elegant. A long profile that seduces any mortal. A nectar of identity that carries a first and last name: Quinta Alta – Zuccaro!
The grapes that give rise to this wine come from a field blend with more than 16 identified grape varieties, including Touriga Nacional, Touriga Francesa, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Barroca, Rufete, Sousão, and Touriga Brasileira. The old vines are planted in a schist soil, in a set of 7 parcels with different sun exposures, at an altitude ranging from 620 to 710 meters.
Winemaking: Manual harvest on September 27, 2019, carried out in crates of up to 20 kg, manual selection on a conveyor belt. After destemming, it goes directly to the lagar, with pre-fermentation maceration by foot treading also with controlled temperature.
It aged for 36 months in new French oak barrels with medium toast, with malolactic fermentation. Released in May 2024.
A wine that pairs well with barbecue, risotto with ossobuco ragù, duck confit, stewed dishes such as braised veal, Portuguese stew, sausages, and game meats.
