The Poeira wines are the personal project of Jorge Moreira, the winemaker who also holds responsibilities at Real Companhia Velha and Quinta de la Rosa.

Quinta do Poeira is located in Provesende, along a slope in the Pinhão valley, on the right bank of the river of the same name.

Its north-facing exposure is a key aspect for the style of wines sought after. Temperatures in the region are always very high in the summer, and on a north-facing slope, the ripening of the grapes is always slower, better preserving the aromas, flavors, and acidity.

Jorge Nobre Moreira - Quinta do Poeira

After making seven vintages as winemaker at Real companhia velha, Jorge Moreira felt the need to start an individual project where he could apply his ideas and where he could control the entire production process. Without compromise, a wine that reflected his interpretation of the Douro. In 2001 he started the Poeira project located in Provesende, along a hillside in the Pinhão valley, on the right bank of the river of the same name.
