O Produtor, tasting note published in October 27th 2020

In the glass, a fine and deep aroma of plum jam, spice, mint, and exotic notes. On the palate, a structured body, yet full of elegance. A long and pleasant finish.

Paulo Laureano

We have added to the traditional blend of Alentejo grape varieties the Touriga Nacional, sourced from the oldest plots of Vinha Julieta. A variety with a very strong personality, just like this Private Selection. Freshness comes from a careful selection of Aragonez, plenty of Trincadeira to add spice, Alicante Bouschet which adds structure and longevity, and the flowers and bergamot notes of Touriga Nacional.

It ferments in stainless steel tanks and lagares, and ages for 12 months in new French oak barrels. It rests for a year in bottle to achieve perfect harmony.

Paulo Laureano

Paulo Laureano is one of Portugal’s most renowned winemakers and a reference in the Alentejo. An agronomist, oenologist trained between Portugal, Australia and Spain, after teaching at the University of Évora for 10 years, he decided to dedicate himself exclusively to what has moved him since 1993: designing wines. Especially in the company he set up with his family in 1999, which has become increasingly important in his life.
Paulo Laureano defines himself as a minimalist winemaker, for whom designing wines is a passion, unveiling his aromas and flavours, evaluating and optimising the reasons for his identity and personality, promoting them as true sources of pleasure.
His exclusive focus on Portuguese grape varieties reflects his way of life, viewing wine as a factor of culture and civilisation.
