Paulo Laureano
The Vidigueira region, with its distinctive characteristics, has always attracted people and families from other regions, who brought new grape varieties here, some of which have shown enormous adaptation, such as Alfrocheiro, a grape variety from the Beira region that allows for exotic wines with fine distinction.
Alfrocheiro is a grape variety originating from the Dão region, present in Vidigueira for over 100 years, with extraordinary adaptation to the soil and climate conditions of the region. However, it is a demanding grape, requiring controlled vigor and low yields to produce extremely balanced wines with the ability to maintain high acidity and vigorous tannins, which makes it so important in these sunny southern lands.
The Miguel Maria Laureano red wine belongs to the Paulo Laureano Genus Generationes collection, a range that bears the names of family members and showcases rare, exotic, and different wines.
“This is our blue wine, named after its aroma of blue fruits, ripe blueberries, and blackberries. It is elegant, balanced, with surprising freshness and a long, harmonious finish, as if it were excellent music. That’s why Alfrocheiro is Miguel Maria, the musician of the family.”
Fermentation takes place in conical trunk vats and aging for 12 months in new French oak barrels.
Food pairing: Game, roasted kid, fatty fish baked in the oven.
