This wine has a very deep deep red color, with strong notes of red berry fruits, combined with nuances of coffee, mocha, vanilla and dried fruits. It has a full, complex, fresh, elegant and persistent structure.
Quinta da Bacalhôa is located on the north-facing Azeitão hillsides. It finds the ideal “terroir” for the production of excellent wines – well-drained clay-limestone soils with a mild climate due to the strong Atlantic influence. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot grape varieties benefit from the natural conditions for a slow and balanced maturation. Vinification: 18 months in new French oak barrels, minimum 19 months in bottle before marketing begins.
