O Produtor, tasting note published in November 18th 2019

Wine of deep color. The nose is dominated by iodized and mineral notes, with cherry aromas in the background and suggestions of dark chocolate, black pepper, blackberries, and smoky notes. On the palate, all these aromatic notes are enhanced by stimulating acidity and enveloping structure. The tasting is punctuated by light saline sensations that add brilliance to the long finish.

Outrora

The “Outrora” Classic Bairrada wine pays tribute to the centenary vines, matriarchs of the region and witnesses of times past. Grapes are selected from vines aged 80 to 120 years in our vineyard in the Cadoiços Valley.

The vinification in lagars with foot treading of grapes with stems, besides being a technique of yesteryear, we believe it remains the best way to obtain great wines from this grape variety. The two-year aging in oak (50% new) and subsequent bottle rest provide the elegance and balance necessary for a wine intended to be enjoyed for many years.

Mira do Ó

Old vines, century-old vines, hillside vines, lowland vines, clay or stony vines, all produce different wines.
It has been our mission to interpret all the differences that exist in the vines and transpose them into the different wines. Our major focus is on old vines of Baga, in the case of the reds, and Bical in the case of the whites, although in some vineyards there are blends with other local grape varieties.
The oenology is minimalist in terms of intervention but quite differentiated and adapted to each of the different vineyards, i.e., the different plots also have a different approach in the winery in order to better reveal what we believe to be their purest expression.
We want wines that are tense, fresh and complex, with a great connection to the terroir and a unique personality and that, fundamentally, will give us pleasure for many years.
