O Produtor, tasting note published in July 10th 2022

Deep coloured wine. Nose in which iodised and mineral notes dominate, with cherry aromas and hints of dark chocolate, black pepper, blackberries and smoked notes as a backdrop. In the mouth, all these aromatic notes are enhanced by the stimulating acidity and enveloping structure. The tasting is punctuated by light saline sensations that add sparkle to the long finish.

Outrora

The “Outrora Clássico” Bairrada wine is a tribute to the century-old vineyards, true matriarchs of the region and witnesses to another era. The grapes are carefully selected from vines aged between 80 and 120 years, located in the Vale de Cadoiços vineyard.

Vinification takes place in lagares, with foot treading of the grapes with stems—an ancient technique that, beyond honoring tradition, remains the best method for extracting this variety’s full potential. A two-year aging process in French oak barrels (50% new), followed by an extended rest in the bottle, grants this wine the elegance and balance required to be enjoyed for many years to come.

Mira do Ó

Old vines, century-old vines, hillside vines, lowland vines, clay or stony vines, all produce different wines.
It has been our mission to interpret all the differences that exist in the vines and transpose them into the different wines. Our major focus is on old vines of Baga, in the case of the reds, and Bical in the case of the whites, although in some vineyards there are blends with other local grape varieties.
The oenology is minimalist in terms of intervention but quite differentiated and adapted to each of the different vineyards, i.e., the different plots also have a different approach in the winery in order to better reveal what we believe to be their purest expression.
We want wines that are tense, fresh and complex, with a great connection to the terroir and a unique personality and that, fundamentally, will give us pleasure for many years.
