O Produtor, tasting note published in March 27th 2017

Deep purple color. Aromatically very intense and exuberant, with floral, violet and spicy notes, all this well matched with notes of chocolate and vanilla wood. Soft, elegant and delicate attack. The tannins feel only in the end, very discreet and well domesticated. Final is elegant and persistent.

Quinta do Mondego

In 1994, the Fontes da Cunha family acquired 1.5 hectares of Quinta do Mondego with a very clear objective, a holiday and weekend house where the harvest was only seen as a moment of fun between family and friends. With the first restructuring of the vineyard, in 1996, the scenario changes completely and one year later the first vineyard is planted.
In 2003, with the vineyard already organized and planted, the family gets together and makes the first harvest of Touriga Nacionalthat gave birth to the first MUNDA Tinto. Thus was born the new brand of Dão wines that, year after year, has conquered the world.
Currently, with a total of 70 hectares, Quinta do Mondego – located in Nelas – is one of the most important vineyards of this wine region in Portugal. In an unforgettable setting, the Quinta’s vineyards run along the banks of the Mondego River, making the wine unique and fresh.
