O Produtor, tasting note published in May 24th 2021
Morgadio da Calçada Tinto is a wine of great elegance and complexity, combining fruit and concentration in a balanced way. The aroma is young and complex, with notes of red fruits and spices. In the mouth it is elegant, with well integrated wood and polished tannins. Long finish suggesting a good evolution in bottle.
After a rigorous selection of the grapes at the selection table, fermentation took place in conical stainless steel vats with a relatively short maceration period. The wine aged for 20 months in French oak barrels, where the malolactic fermentation took place.
