Deep violet-red color. On the nose, it emphasizes ripe red fruits and cherry compote in harmony with the spice notes from the grape varieties used. The wood aging offers sweet notes of vanilla and coffee. It is full-bodied, structured, and elegant. On the palate, intense notes of red fruits and chocolate stand out, with a long finish and quality tannins.
Pre-fermentation maceration, fermentation at controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks, post-fermentation maceration. A part of the blend aged for a short period in extra-fine oak barrels of third passage. Ideal to accompany more elaborate cuisine. It pairs well with meat dishes, cured meats, cod, and sheep cheeses.

To the north, at the head, about 3 km of Freixo de Espada à Cinta, is the Senhora dos Montes Ermos. Legend has it that, wishing the locals to build her a chapel in S. Brás, during the night, the tools were systematically moved to this place. The Freixenists worship her in a very special way. They evoke her in their afflictions, they force her to promise. They are in honour of Senhora dos Montes Ermemos the greatest festivities in the village of Freixo.
