Montaria
Montaria” is a tribute to man’s best friend, the dog. “Our” Montaria, a German Shepherd, exists and lives at Herdade da Candeeira, located in the Redondo region of Alentejo, and is there every day alongside the viticulture and field team that works there so that the best nectars emerge at the end of the day.
Alentejo is the largest wine region in Portugal and also one of the most diverse. The climate is continental Mediterranean, with greater thermal amplitudes in the interior regions, closer to the border with Spain. The Alentejo vineyard reflects a great variety of grape varieties, with a predominance of white Antão Vaz, Roupeiro, and Arinto, and red Aragonês, Trincadeira, Alicante Bouschet.
Vinification and ageing: Nighttime grape harvest, skin maceration at low temperature, controlled fermentation in stainless steel tanks, and development of malolactic fermentation in the presence of wood.
Ageing in French and American oak barrels, giving the wines a velvety and fresh texture.
