O Produtor, tasting note published in November 23rd 2021

This wine showcases an intense color and aroma of ripe wild fruits, with an elegant floral note typical of Touriga. In the mouth, the full-bodied and fleshy character of Syrah is enlivened by the tannins and acidity of Alicante Bouschet, resulting in a very balanced, fresh, long, and seductive wine.

Mingorra

The viticultural year of 2020 was challenging. It was a year of contrasts, but also of balance. The hottest July on record in Alentejo resulted in small berries, which, combined with the choice of harvest date, led to wines with a high concentration of aroma and flavor.

The red reserve from Herdade da Mingorra comes from a selection of grapes from three distinct parcels: an old Alicante Bouschet vine from the 80s grafted with Touriga Nacionalin the early 2000s, and a plot of Syrah planted in 2005. The chosen grape varieties, among the noblest in Alentejo, Portugal, and the world, result from decades of experience and study on how they behave in the soils and climate of southern Alentejo.

Vinification: Pre-fermentation cold maceration, traditional fermentation with controlled temperature at 26°C; 12 months aging in French oak barrels.

Winemaker: Pedro Hipólito.

Mingorra

In the warm lands of Baixo Alentejo, just a few kilometres from the city of Beja, there is one of the oldest wine-growing cultures in the region. These are vineyards with decades of history that Henrique Uva has been preserving and making profitable for years and which he has always wanted to value as an independent producer.
In 2004, the dream came true, with the project being named Henrique Uva / Herdade da Mingorra. The winery is duly framed within the 1,400 ha of a landscape that is even exuberant, such is the diversity of cultures and fauna, with various river basins functioning as authentic oases. The Winery assumes itself as an authentic place of worship. A space where modernity and functionality coexist, indelibly, with the most traditional techniques.
