Mestiço
The red wine Maduro is a blend made with love by Ljubomir Stanisic, Luís Pedro, and Dirk Niepoort, with 50% Vinha Velha Covas do Douro and 50% Vinha Velha Santo Adrião.
More than a chronological stage, it is a characteristic: vital fullness, coherence, assertiveness. A roundness that confuses all geometries. A fullness that never overflows. A wood with marked veins on the palate. A certain hungry madness. Moderated, matured, transformed. Woman, adult, greater. It is to love, adore! To mature.
Coming from a rainy winter, followed by a moderate spring, the vine developed well, with a fresh June that delayed its vegetative growth. Harvest began in the first weeks of August in the warmer areas and ended at higher altitudes in late September. After a vineyard selection, a second selection took place on the sorting table. It aged for 1 year in cement tanks and was fermented in conical inox tanks. The wine aged for 22 months in French oak barrels.
