Color: intense garnet red.
On the nose: ethereal aromas with predominant notes of spices, tobacco, and underbrush; also notable mineral notes.
On the palate: classic wine, with good harmony, tannic when young and with remarkable aging potential that makes it an unmistakable "Nebbiolo from Serralunga.

Massolino

A historic Barolo for us: the Margheria is synonymous with elegance and minerality.

The Barolo DOCG Margheria extracts much of its character from the calcareous soil, with a slightly higher percentage of sand compared to our other subzones.

Produced for the first time in 1985, like the great Barolo from Serralunga, it has significant aging potential.

Made with Nebbiolo grapes from vineyards with an average age of 40 years, located in Serralunga d’Alba, at an altitude of 280 m above sea level.

Vinification and aging: traditional Barolo with long fermentation and maceration in oak tanks at around 30°C; aged in large Slavonian oak barrels for up to 30 months and refined in bottle for about a year in cool, dark places.

A wine that encapsulates the entire history of this terroir and expresses its qualities best when paired with rich dishes, such as roasted red meat or stewed game. Excellent also with medium to long-aged cheeses. It is advisable to decant.

Massolino Vigna Rionda

Since 1896, a Story Written in Time. Wine is the ink with which we write an important page of history: for the territory, for our family, and for those who choose a wine from our cellar, sharing it during a special moment in their lives.

Massolino Vigna Rionda is a family adventure. Today, the fourth generation leads the company. In the family archives, we found an old leather notebook, carefully preserved by Uncle Renato. Leafing through it is like looking into the past, bringing back memories. Our winery was founded in 1896, here in Serralunga d’Alba, in the heart of the Langhe. Our great-grandfather Giovanni was the founder. We started, as is tradition, with a mixed farming activity; today, we focus all our best energies on producing wines of the highest quality.

At Massolino Vigna Rionda, wines are more than just bottles—they are chapters of a story. Each glass of Barolo reflects a deep respect for the terroir. With a vision that honors the past and embraces the future, the wines carry the strength of a singular identity, born from passion and harmony with nature.

The wines of Massolino Vigna Rionda reflect a clear production philosophy: a product that fully expresses the characteristics of the fruit and the territory. We don’t need to add anything, just refine. Preserving the purest expressions of the grapes gives rise to extraordinary, complex, and harmonious wines.

If you visit us, you will see that our vineyards are treated like gardens, growing in harmony with the environment.
