Lagoalva
The long tradition of Quinta da Lagoalva as a wine producer is evidenced by its presence at the 1888 Portuguese Industry Exhibition, where it showcased 600 casks of wine.
The Lagoalva red wine is born among the estate’s 45 hectares of vineyards, planted in the best “terroirs” of the Tejo region and composed of national and international grape varieties with proven enological qualities. The vineyards of Quinta da Lagoalva benefit from a modern training system, just like the winery, which combines efficient winemaking with a great versatility of enological choices, balancing the “New World” model with traditional European approaches.
Winemaking: The grapes are mechanically harvested at night. After a two-day pre-fermentation maceration, alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at 24ºC. The grape pomace is pressed in a pneumatic press, and malolactic fermentation occurs in French and American oak barrels, where the wine is aged for six months.
Winemakers: Pedro Pinhão / Luís Paulino.
