O Produtor, tasting note published in October 3rd 2023

This wine expresses the full intensity of Carmenère, the main grape variety, which brings volume to the blend with dark fruit and spice notes. The Cabernet Sauvignon adds balance and structure, while the Cabernet Franc contributes vibrant acidity and minerality.

The 2021 harvest took place under a cool spring, a hot summer in February and March, and an autumn with normal to high temperatures. The warm days and nights enhanced aromatic expression and tannin ripeness, resulting in a wine of great depth. La Piu Belle 2021 stands out with its deep dark red tones and intense blue reflections.

Let yourself be seduced by the essence of La Piu Belle and discover the perfect fusion of art and nature in every glass.

La Piu Belle

La Piu Belle masterfully combines a voluptuous, complex, intense, elegant, and fresh composition, capturing the timeless beauty of nature.

She is the goddess of nature, love, fertility, beauty, and art—the embodiment of the mystical world of VIK’s incredible terroir. She represents the sun that illuminates the morning mist over the Millahue Valley, the freshness of the Pacific and Andean mountain breezes that temper the summer heat and protect our grapes. She is the serene rain that gives life to the vineyards, releasing the vibrant aromas of lush vegetation and native wildlife that surround our estate. She is the complexity of our soils—granite-based, deep, and porous, offering excellent drainage—the softness of the rolling hills, and the beauty of the valleys.

La Piu Belle is intensely emotional and sublime—the most beautiful. She was gifted to VIK to inspire extraordinary wines. She breathed life into our vineyards and sheds red-gold tears of joy for what she has created. These tears, our wines, are her gift to the world. Fresh, elegant, intense, beautiful.

Aging: 20 months in French oak barrels, 15% of which in BARROIR (barrels toasted with oak from our own estate).

Winemaking: 76% Carmenère for seductive, spicy notes. 19% Cabernet Sauvignon for structure and a distinctive character. 5% Cabernet Franc for complexity and elegance.

Food Pairing: Ideal for refined gastronomic moments. Pair with smoked duck breast or grilled salmon to enhance its flavors.

Vik Wines

VIK was created in Millahue, in the Cachapoal Valley. This is a vineyard that embodies the perfect fusion of man, experience, land, climate and high technology.

THE PERFECT TERROIR
The VIK vineyard was born at the foot of the Andes Mountains, within the Millahue Valley, called “Lugar de Oro” or “Golden Place” by the native Mapuche people: 4,300 hectares of astonishing Chilean nature where more than 327 hectares of vines have been planted.

VIK’s terroir offers a majestic and natural landscape made up of 12 valleys, each with its own microclimate, distinct exposures, all within a wind tunnel cooled by coastal breezes from the Pacific and winds from high in the Andes that give VIK enormous complexity and exceptional variety.

OENOLOGIST
Head winemaker Cristian Vallejo oversees VIK’s viticulture and winemaking, ensuring that grapes are hand-picked and fermentation occurs naturally, without the addition of yeasts.

The wines are aged in a combination of new and used French oak barrels.
