For many years, at Quinta de São Luiz, tradition dictated that the walls be painted white. These are authentic pieces of history that support the vines and the wisdom of several generations.
To honor this excellent terroir, Kopke revives the tradition of painting the walls and now signs its DOC Douro wines as São Luiz.
It is the heritage of the past combined with the innovation of the present that gives these wines a unique character.

The Viosinho harvest was carried out at the end of August, and the Arinto and Folgazão in early September, with manual harvesting into small boxes. Skin maceration for approximately 10 hours, with fermentation in French oak barrels. Aged for 6 months in the same barrels using the “bâtonnage” method.
