Herdade do Rocim
The “Herdade do Rocim” Alicante Bouschet is a genuine wine, produced from the passion of generations who have always had the greatest respect and tenderness for the land. It is made from the Alicante Bouschet grape variety, carefully foot trodden in a traditional stone lagar. Aged in French oak vats.
Located between Vidigueira and Cuba in the Lower Alentejo, Herdade do Rocim has around 70 hectares of vineyards, with 53 dedicated to red grape varieties and the remaining 17 to white grape varieties. Characterized by clay-sandy and sandy soils, Herdade do Rocim aims for grape production of high quality. The Rocim Winery, a key element of the project, combines wine production with the aesthetic quality of its architecture, serving as a marketing and promotional tool, qualifying the region.
Vinification: Manual harvest in 12 kg crates. In the winery, the grapes undergo a careful selection on a vibrating sorting table, then destemmed with a light crushing. Fermentation in a stone lagar with foot treading.
