O Produtor, tasting note published in March 25th 2021

We descend the Serra do Mendro to the foothills through the Cevadeira vineyards, protected by the shadows of the hillsides. Ancient varieties of thin skin, transparent colour, round tannins, in Myndru we feel the tradition and typicality, the fine and delicate aromas of red fruits cultivated in brownish soils with little structure in a cool climate, and balsamic notes of oak and rock-rose. We are struck by the complexity of the wines from micro-territories. The transparency of the delicately coppery grapes in plaster and clay amphorae show the texture and perfume of the orange groves grown down by the river. The gravity of the Alfrocheiro, the juiciness, the viscosity and the exoticism of the Tinta Grossa in Tinajas de Terracota form sensations that populate our memory and bring to mind wines that echo primitive voices. At the end, the mineral perception and the tension of the Berry and a firmness by the ageing of 12 months in amphora of "Cocciopesto".
