O Produtor, tasting note published in May 23rd 2018
Light ruby colour. Expressive aroma with notes of wild berries and light balsamic. It combines elegance and concentration with good acidity and silky tannins. The finish is long and persistent.
The grapes were harvested by hand and crushed in small deposits. Indigenous yeasts were fermented and pumped by hand. The press was an old vertical press. It aged about 24 months in used 225 L French oak barrels and another 12 in the bottle. It underwent a slight filtration and therefore there may be some deposit with ageing.

Vadio Bairrada Doc
VADIO is situated in the village of Poutena in the region of BAIRRADA. It is a small and family project founded in 2005 by winemaker Luís Patrão, whose essential element is the recovery of traditional grape varieties and the production of authentic DOC BAIRRADA wines. We have three totally distinct small vineyards and an old warehouse which we have adapted in a very simple way for the production of wine. Our wines present a classic style that intends to respect the authenticity of the region and the character of the grape varieties that give it origin.
