O Produtor, tasting note published in November 28th 2021

Ruby coloured wine, with a good concentration, with aromas of black plum and ripe red fruit. In the mouth it has great breadth and precision. It has good structure, soft, smooth tannins and a seductive freshness that gives it good length. Elegant wine with good gastronomic aptitude.

Freixo

The grapes from different selected varieties are harvested according to their ideal state of ripeness, in 20 kg crates, and immediately vinified. Destemmed and gravity-fed into fermentation tanks, where fermentation takes place at moderate temperatures for approximately 10 days. Its partial aging of 70% of the batch for 9 months in French and American oak barrels gives it complexity and elegance while maintaining the presence of fresh fruit notes.

It pairs well with meat and fish dishes from traditional Portuguese cuisine and also exhibits characteristics of freshness and elegance ideal for combining with fusion dishes, Italian pastas, and oriental cuisine. An ideal wine for youthful consumption, but also with good aging potential.

Quinta Do Freixo

The 300ha of Herdade do Freixo, includes the vineyards and the underground cellar.
In these Alentejo properties, located in the small village of Freixo, northwest of the Municipality of Redondo and covered by the Municipal Ecological Reserve (REN), a quiet landscape stands out, with asymmetries in color, relief and textures of the land, provided by different agricultural activities such as livestock grazing, arable crops and the area of montado and cork oak, included in the network of environmental protection and enhancement.
This landscape eden, whose essence is respect for nature, seasonally receives flocks of migratory species and the very rare Black Stork, which is observed in Portugal, only in the most interior regions, inhospitable, isolated and with little human disturbance. A thousand-year-old olive tree estate surrounds the irrigation dam, forming our Olive Garden, but we can also glimpse these trees that tell hundreds or thousands of years of history throughout the estate. They have been able to resist the passing of time, to surprise us today with their uniqueness and magnificence.
