O Produtor, tasting note published in March 27th 2021
Excellent concentration of aromas, with notes of fresh red fruits associated with spices. In the mouth it presents great concentration of fruit and tannins well firm but in great harmony and balance. It is an elegant and subtle wine with the identity of the old vines that originate.
The properly selected and destemmed grapes fermented in temperature controlled vats for 8 days. Malolactic ageing and fermentation took place in French oak barrels 30% new and 70% second year for 18 months.

Foz Torto
In the year 2000, Abílio Tavares da Silva decided to change his life. He sold the companies he owned in Lisbon and headed with his family to the Douro, looking for a place to produce wines in the oldest demarcated and regulated region in the world.
He found the ideal place after a long search: a property with 14 hectares in the heart of the wine region, with fantastic views and a privileged exhibition for wine production: south and west. Following a detailed reconstruction project, the producer maintained three hectares of old vines planted on terraces and replanted about 80 per cent of the property with traditional Douro varieties (Touriga Nacional, Touriga Francesa, Tinta Roriz, Tinto Cão, Tinta Barroca…). The entire rehabilitation of the property – surriba, irrigation, drainage, fertigation and weather station – obeyed the most modern technologies and knowledge available in each area, combining innovation with respect for tradition.
