Evidência
The essence of the Dão in every sip.
The Vinho Tinto Evidência Colheita is born in the Dão, a region known for its reds that stand out for their smoothness, fruit purity, and elegance. Surrounded by mountains, including the Serra da Estrela, the highest in the country, the Dão features predominantly granitic soils, with some areas of schist. The temperate climate, of the Mediterranean-continental type, protected from maritime influence by the mountains, is marked by altitude (75% of the area is situated between 400 and 700 meters), providing excellent acidity freshness in its wines.
The Evidência Colheita Tinto is a blend wine, combining 40% Tinta Roriz, 30% Touriga Nacional, and 30% Alicante Bouschet, reflecting the richness of the region. Touriga Nacional, the most emblematic red grape variety of Portugal, was born precisely in the Dão. With historical references dating back to 1790, this variety is associated with the village of Tourigo and the synonym Preto Mortágua, which refers to the homonymous town. The genetic variability of the Touriga Nacional strains in the Dão is significantly higher than in any other region, highlighting its long-standing presence and importance in our reds of the Evidência range.
Vinification and aging: Fermented in stainless steel tanks, enhancing the freshness and purity of the fruit.
