Evidência
The red wine Evidência Reserva Touriga Nacional is born in the Dão region, known for the softness, purity of fruit, and elegance of its reds. Surrounded by several mountains, including the Serra da Estrela, the highest in the country, the Dão has predominantly granitic soils, with some areas of schist. The temperate climate, of the Mediterranean-continental type, protected from maritime influence by the mountains, is marked by altitude (75% of the area is situated between 400 and 700 meters), providing excellent acidity freshness in its wines.
The Evidência Reserva red is a monovarietal wine made from the most emblematic Portuguese red variety, the Touriga Nacional grape. This grape originated in the Dão region, with historical data dating back to 1790. The municipality of Tondela is home to the village of Tourigo, the name by which the grape has always been known, and one of its synonyms is Preto Mortágua, referring to the town and municipality of the same name. Scientific evidence shows that the genetic variability of Touriga Nacional vines in the Dão is much greater than in any other region, highlighting the long history of the grape in the area.
It is a clear evidence, an irrefutable proof of the origin of Touriga Nacional, a fundamental variety in all our reds from the Evidência range, which in the Reserva reaches its maximum expression.
Vinification and aging: Fermented in stainless steel tanks, with aging in French oak.
