O Produtor, tasting note published in May 16th 2023

Deep, concentrated colour. Aromas of black fruit and hints of cocoa. Full, persistent and long on the palate.

Duas Famílias

Vinification
The grapes are hand-picked in small crates and transported to the cellar, where they are de-stemmed and gently crushed. Cold maceration for 72 hours and the start of spontaneous fermentation with temperature control. The wine is racked daily and pumped over with aeration to help fix the colour and integrate the aromas. Malolactic fermentation takes place over a period of 2 years in French and American oak barrels.

Winemakers
Marco Crespo & Rui Lopes.

Region
Alentejo region.

Soil
Poor and of granite origin with a lot of stones, deep and steeply sloping.

Climate
Strong continental influence and, as the highest mountain south of the Tagus, it has two very distinct climates. The north-facing area is fairly windy and cool, while the south-facing slopes have a very wide temperature range in summer, with extremely hot days and cool nights, allowing for balanced ripening of the grapes.

Allergens information

Contains sulphites.
