O Produtor, tasting note published in May 5th 2022

Ruby colour, reveals notes of cocoa, spices, cherry, gunpowder and a fine vegetal freshness. In the mouth it presents great elegance and structure, with silky and enveloping tannins. The unique combination of elegance and power offered by the Dão region is evident in this wine.

Druida

This wine is born at 500 meters of altitude in the granite soils of the right bank of the Dão region. These low-yielding vineyards are about 30 years old and produce grapes of great quality. This wine, with extremely limited production, seeks to express its “terroir”: fresh, elegant, and complex.

Here, the mother rock is granite as in most of the region but with a great richness of clay that allows for a great balance of the vines in drier years and also the obtaining of wines with a richer texture and greater depth.

Winemaking simply consists of choosing the best vinification techniques that allow us to interpret the different grapes in the best way, with minimal intervention but always controlling the processes at all stages.

We seek to obtain wines faithful to their origins, elegant and fresh, that provide pleasure and know how to age gracefully.

Mira do Ó

Old vines, century-old vines, hillside vines, lowland vines, clay or stony vines, all produce different wines.
It has been our mission to interpret all the differences that exist in the vines and transpose them into the different wines. Our major focus is on old vines of Baga, in the case of the reds, and Bical in the case of the whites, although in some vineyards there are blends with other local grape varieties.
The oenology is minimalist in terms of intervention but quite differentiated and adapted to each of the different vineyards, i.e., the different plots also have a different approach in the winery in order to better reveal what we believe to be their purest expression.
We want wines that are tense, fresh and complex, with a great connection to the terroir and a unique personality and that, fundamentally, will give us pleasure for many years.
