Douro Boys
Each wine was created from an equal contribution from the five members, in a collaborative process. Francisco Olazábal, from Quinta do Valle Meão, emphasised that the red incorporates “the best wines from each producer”, including fruit from the centenary field blend of Crasto’s Vinha do Ponte and Niepoort’s equally venerable Batuta vineyards.
“2021 is a very elegant year,” emphasised Olazábal, drawing a parallel with the Douro’s fresher 2008 vintage. “It’s not powerful, but it’s very fruity and I think it will survive a long time in the bottle.

Douro Boys
What began as a group of friends has flourished into a globally acclaimed project. Since 2003, these five winemakers have been working together with one goal in mind: although the Douro Valley is mainly famous for its traditional Port wines, the Douro Boys realised early on that their dry red and white table wines are also fantastic.
Together, they aim to show the world the potential of table wine and their incredibly beautiful region and “put them on the international wine map”.
As many wine connoisseurs already know, the high quality of Douro wines is indisputable. What makes the ‘Boys’ so successful in communicating their vision is the way they all pull together with enthusiasm.
