O Produtor, tasting note published in May 23rd 2019
Intense Ruby colour. Complex aroma, initially the very ripe black fruit, like plum and fig, followed by a resinous and mentholated character surrounded by smoked notes and spices, like green pepper. In the mouth it is a velvety wine, very full bodied and very fresh due to a balanced acidity and a very long finish.

Quinta da Dona Matilde
The Dona Matilde estate is one of the oldest properties in the Douro region. Previously known as Enxodreiro, the quinta was part of the first demarcation, ordered by the Marquis of Pombal in 1756, and was part of the properties with authorisation to produce “feitoria wines”, a synonymous expression of the best wines, those intended for export. Even today the entire vineyard has letter A, the highest classification in the region, used in the Port wine sector.
