O Produtor, tasting note published in May 23rd 2021
Intense Ruby colour. The aroma is initially marked by very ripe black fruit such as plums and figs, followed by a resinous and mentholated character surrounded by smoked notes and green pepper spices. In the mouth it is a wine of soft attack, very full bodied and very fresh due to its good acidity in a very long and persistent set.
The grapes are picked by hand in 25 kg boxes. Pre-selection of bunches at the entrance of the winery, gentle pressing and fermentation at controlled temperature. Aged in French oak barrels.

Quinta da Dona Matilde
The Dona Matilde estate is one of the oldest properties in the Douro region. Previously known as Enxodreiro, the quinta was part of the first demarcation, ordered by the Marquis of Pombal in 1756, and was part of the properties with authorisation to produce “feitoria wines”, a synonymous expression of the best wines, those intended for export. Even today the entire vineyard has letter A, the highest classification in the region, used in the Port wine sector.
